AMONG THE ANCIENT nations, not only were statues of the gods and goddesses in human form made, other objects with a hidden or mystery meaning, such as obelisks, were a part of heathen Worship.

Originally, the obelisk was associated with SUN Worship. The ancients, having rejected the knowledge of the true creator—seeing that the SUN gave life to plants and to man, looked upon the SUN as a god, the great life giver.  To them, upright objects such as the obelisk also had a sexual significance.  Realizing that through sexual union life was produced, the phallus was considered (along with the SUN) a symbol of life.  These were beliefs represented by the obelisk.

Jesus speaks about workers of the eleventh hour in his parable of labourers. (Mt 20,6)

The eleven apostles remaining with Jesus Christ following the treason and the suicide of Judas the apostle.

In the prescriptions given by Yahweh to Moses for the construction of the sanctuary, Moses has to make eleven sheets of goats’ hair to form a tent over the Dwelling. (Ex 26,7)

Joseph, betrayed by his brothers and rescuer of his tribe, is the eleventh son of Jacob.

The number eleven is important in that it can symbolize disorder, chaos and judgment. In the Bible, number 11 is used twenty-four times and “11th” can be found 19 times.

Coming after 10 (which represents law and responsibility), the number eleven (11) represents the opposite, which is the irresponsibility of breaking the Law, which brings disorder and judgment.
